Wallpaper is the artistic tool of this exhibition: Inspiration, material and at the same time a testimony to the past.
In her installations and objects, Peggy Schneider deals with old paper wallpapers and attempts to do justice to the actual use of paper wallpapers by alienating them, e.g. by using other materials, and thus bringing them back into our consciousness.

Peter Weiss, best known for his great novel Aesthetics of Resistance, published his first German-language work after exile in 1960 with the micro-novel The Shadow of the Coachman's Body. A narrative experiment whose originality caused a sensation even then and influenced many after him.

All we know about the narrator of the novel is that he is a guest in some isolated farmstead among other bizarre characters and has finally managed to overcome his severe crisis and writer's block by deciding to focus solely and exclusively on the things and events that he encounters in his immediate surroundings......bis the limits of the ability of language to depict observation.

The reading series, which was accompanied each time by a different artist who simultaneously created new works and perspectives on the text, is now being exhibited at Galerie Hinten.

Four students of the Angewandte Kunst Schneeberg refer to non-existent contemporary content, creating mixtures of photography, digital multimedia experiments and spatial and light installations. The exhibits refer to empirical themes that underlie the investigation of linear graphics and light. The viewer's gaze is focussed on the front.

As a city, Chemnitz is characterised by the constant decline in population numbers as well as by the magnificent Wilhelminian-style buildings and production halls that tell of a time of boom around 1900. Many of these buildings are empty today and when you drive through Chemnitz, you can't help but wonder what stories and events have taken place in these places and left their mark. For the people who live here, the vacancy is hardly associated with fascination or curiosity, but with pain at the fact that the city is falling into disrepair. Initiatives such as the revitalisation of the Brühl show a struggle to revive and use these places steeped in history.

We also want to deal with the emptiness in Chemnitz, to read the traces of the past on the walls and to make stories visible and audible in the emptiness that tell of the life that has existed here. We are always endeavouring to fill the void with history, stories and meaning. That is our "horror vacui".

Works of art become immortal when they create myths, when they become anchored in our thoughts. But the same place, namely in thinking about the world, in designing a concept, in setting a narrative thread, is also where the potential lies that gives rise to works of art in the first place.

"But perhaps experience is the element in which art dies." (Heidegger, 1936)

Do we need the work of art as such? Or is the image only there to make art materially tangible and utilisable? To put it in more extreme terms: does the work function primarily as an idol, as a place of pilgrimage for believers?

"Of Gods and Demons" is the title of the exhibition by Dresden artist Christian Manss at Galerie Hinten. The central question of the exhibition: What are you worth? Value and norms are fundamental concepts in all societies, past and present. Value is also a fundamental characteristic of material things, which in many cases is what makes their embedding in a culture possible in the first place. How are values created and circulate in a society? How are values and norms transformed by social, political and economic changes? Christian Manss is interested in this process of change, the in-between, in his work. Traces of people and their values - moral and material. What do people wear today? Who were we yesterday? What do we believe in tomorrow? The artist plays with the values of our time as well as with the materials. In addition to canvas and acrylic paint, numerous other materials can be found in and on Christian Manss' works, such as wallpapering tables, painter's fleece, acrylic glass, wrapping paper, varnish, textile paint and everything else that is needed. Curiosity is his driving force, without ignoring the familiar, but rediscovering and transforming it.

If aggregate is understood as an external combination of elements, the exhibition shows an observation of diverse rock states without claiming to be exhaustive. Rather, the aim is to show a meandering encircling of the object.

The artist subsumes the exhibited works "Aggregat (Gestein)" under the work complex "Steine wälzen", in which she carries out a lyrical examination of rock from its natural, untouched appearance to its appearance in everyday human life. The works on display not only pose the question of use, but also that of an understanding of aesthetics in different living environments. The pause in the exhibition shows a fragmentary, photographic investigation of rock formation in the broadest sense. The growing societal endeavour to control nature will be explored and the question of how the human urge to live in harmony with nature, at least superficially, manifests itself in everyday life will be examined. What possibilities does photography have to convey an idea of living worlds through cropped images?

Jenny Schäfer repeatedly presents her pictures in spatial picture installations as well as in artist's books. She is also interested in the different recording and reproduction processes. Her photographs do not assert a single reality, but in their compositions and superimpositions they do assert a possible perception of reality(ies).

The aim of the "Relay" project is to unite four artists working in different fields in the Galerie Hinten. As in a relay race, in which the baton is passed from runner to runner, the artists are asked to continue one artistic work after the other. The "baton" that is passed on, however, is the space and what is found in the space. Galerie Hinten will leave a small "nudge" at the beginning to which the artists will respond.

Four artists who were born in Karl-Marx-Stadt (Chemnitz) in the eighties and nineties and have since moved the centre of their work to different places: Chemnitz, Leipzig, Halle and Berlin. Among them are: Frank Weißbach, Peter Pieck, Nora Mona Bach and Nadja Rothenburger.

Each artist will be on site in Chemnitz for a week in order to be able to deal with what they find in the space. The project will therefore extend over 4 weeks. At the end of each week - on Saturdays (13.9/20.9/27.9) there will be a small intermediate vernissage at 7 pm. Visitors will be able to follow the process of change and further development.

After completion of the last work, on 4 October 2014, all artists will be back in the gallery and will be able to make contact beyond the artistic work and also answer visitors' questions. A small panel discussion is planned for 7 pm at Klub Lokomov.

Frank Weißbach: All the ideas that I have and can have, which are inspired by all kinds of things, snippets, quotes, situations, etc., are characterised by the culture industry. - are characterised by the culture industry. During my work process, I try to gradually uncover the layers of my ideas that have been shaped in this way, to reflect on them and to make them visible along with their contradictions.

Peter Piek: Peter Piek is a German painter, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, author and performance artist. "I know that I know nothing when I think. that's why I paint*." (* by painting I mean the creative process as such, regardless of whether it takes place in music, painting, writing or elsewhere)

Nora Mona Bach: "Drawings from coal dust. Casual scenarios: Gardens. Weed paths. Edge pieces. Crime scenes. The abundance of foliage and undergrowth harbours a hint of a violent history of the places that constantly surround us. The drawings are reminiscent of photographic images: Overlays. Memorabilia. Black spots."

Nadja Rothenburger: The starting point of the works is the body and its relationship to social processes. The performances are based on movement sequences that refer to interactions with other media in terms of content and form

"Die alte Crew" from Bielefeld meets in Chemnitz to publish the 8th graphic edition. To mark the occasion, a group exhibition is being held at Galerie HINTEN. On display are works by 12 former students of the drawing class of Professor Jochen Geilen.
Following the "1st Sonnenberg Print Days" in June 2014, this is the second appearance in the beloved neighbourhood at the foot of the Sonnenberg. At the same time as the exhibition, "Druckstock 1", an artist's printing workshop for letterpress and intaglio printing above the rooms of Galerie HINTEN, will be opened.
Visitors to the exhibition are cordially invited to experience the artists at work on the graphic edition during opening hours.

Monika Jarecka
Painting is closely linked to the impossibility of repetition. Originality, handwriting, processuality, subjectivity and temporal delay are characteristic of her work.
Monika Jarecka's works are created on canvases and as installative paintings in the room directly on the wall. She develops instructions according to which she acts for the respective series of pictures or spatial work, opening up a room for manoeuvre within which something is made possible.
In one of the rooms of the Galerie Hinten, the work "Double" was created on site and before the opening of the exhibition with the following instructions:
Two canvases, placed opposite each other in the room, are painted one after the other with the same intention and colour.
Acrylic paint is applied over the entire surface and then generously removed with water.
The action is not limited in time.
The action is recorded by a camera.

Christl Mudrak is working on a wall drawing for the exhibition using blue paper, a kind of self-copying blue-coated paper. She uses the artistic means of mirroring and repetitive gestures to create a hand drawing in the gallery space.
The spatial requirements of the small trapezoidal space of the Galerie Hinten are transferred to contact copies.

Thomas Prochnow's works almost always have a spatial reference. He deliberately seeks out abandoned spaces in old and empty buildings or utilises the available possibilities in gallery and project spaces. In doing so, he roams through them and a spatial structure that appeals to him becomes the site for a mostly installative intervention. Prochnow then brings in either colour or a material that does not at first glance come from the art context. His interventions work with the architecture of the space, changing it, exploring boundaries and creating new structures that give the viewer the opportunity to experience a new level of meaning on site. The works in the abandoned buildings can usually only be experienced through a photographic or video work. As part of his exhibition "Ode to my system", Prochnow will work with strapping tape from the packaging industry and insert a geometric system into the spatial structures. An object that stands on its own and communicates with the space and the visitor.

Galerie Hinten is showing works by two Leipzig artists in its exhibition in July. The two painters share an interest in images that are characterised by a quality of indeterminacy and unreliability. Thomas Näther experiments with motifs, situations and moods in his sketches. He transforms these starting points into a painting that takes place under conceptual guidelines. These include his fixed colour palette, the emphasis on the painting material and the inclusion of disruptive elements. He arranges his pictures in such a way that they show their components and the construction of the pictures is visible. Christoph Roßner works on paper, cardboard and canvas. Within his painting, he is interested in representational arrangements of invented and invented things and their refraction into the ambiguous. He understands the process of painting not as the simple realisation of ideas, but as the discovery of the idea itself. In doing so, he flirts with the absurd and grotesque without losing sight of his claim to a coherent painterly formulation.

What happened in the past leaves a mark on the soul. It later becomes a material in the dream. Almost everyone has experienced this. The end of the dream is the beginning of life. It is like a cycle, part of everyday life. But how can we characterise the state between dream and reality? Ling-Yu Tai does not interpret the content of her dreams, but the perception of the subconscious. She is interested in how this abstract consciousness can be visualised. Ling-Yu Tai, born in 1985 in Teipeh Taiwan, has been a student in the Painting / Textile Art class of Prof Ulrich Reimkasten at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle since 2011.

The first impression of a city is its surface. In the exhibition "Ich will Wand sein, zieh dein Hemd an.", the artists show works in which impressions of a stay in Chemnitz become recognisable. This summer, they travelled to the Sonnenberg district of Chemnitz to develop an artistic approach to this place. On display are the results of various photographic appropriations, complemented by found objects. The peculiarities of the walls and façades can be read, and we can speculate about what lies behind them.

Irini Mavromatidou's expansive, old, painterly, chapped kitchen table is covered and stacked with black and white portraits in miniature format and works cut into ovals from archival cardboard, the size of the palm of your hand.

Multicoloured, finely chiselled bands adorn the edges. Their filigree design is reminiscent of our grandmothers' industrious bobbin lace around handkerchiefs and little balls.

As everything lies there in its idiosyncratic iconography of amulets, votive tablets, miniatures... I randomly reach into the ovals... hold one at eye level... will it become a mirror?

How do I see myself? Asks the dialogue and gets lost in it; wanders along the ornaments, looking for support.

Everything needs a frame, meditates the imago, so as not to fall out of the frame.

As random as associations with the artist's works may seem, they are nevertheless fed by the motifs of pictorial history, the history of images that everyone has carried around with them for generations - and which want to come to light in dialogue with Irini Mavromatidou's objects..

Does the artist not hold a dialogue with herself, with the viewer in her works? Doesn't she get in touch with herself and pass on her aesthetic experience?

Over the years, Irini Mavromatidou has developed an artistic identity; she has fantasised and imagined a "sign language" that transcends time and temporal circumstances, one that wants to move on and progress.

Her view of the world, her love of small things, her personal pictorial inventions remain still in snapshots, translating what she hopes for into moulded thoughts.

Each work resembles a protocol of processes to make the "world" their own... and the result wants to be on stage.

Thus the gallery becomes its frame.

Peter Piek is a painter, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, author and performance artist born in Karl-Marx-Stadt in 1984. He is at home in Leipzig as well as travelling to concerts and exhibitions on 3 continents. He is known for his unique voice, his unique style of painting, timeless songs and above all for his attempts to combine painting and music.

Since 2010, his circular paintings have been like a continuation of beautiful coincidences, colour patterns and structures that signify joie de vivre.

Linocuts from the day before yesterday to today.

My hands are not interested in what my head thinks, and my head has long forgotten what my hands did yesterday. Nevertheless, I imagine that I can influence these extremities and so I always try to bring their activity together. I use carpeting as the flooring for this ambitious project - a material that is used to being worn down. In my case, however, the marks in the linoleum don't come from my shoes, but are the result of knife marks that have been freely transferred from the liver. The whole thing is then spruced up and put in the right light, resulting in something that can once again be seen in the shop window.

Several shaped canvas and an installation will be shown at the exhibition.

What is it about: theory, theory - or maybe not. Far too much office. No professional superstructure is also okay. Better to roller-skate through the prairie or simply enter the gallery unprepared.
There you look at strangely shaped canvases and sip your beer. Is that already a canvas or still a thing? The artist mumbles: "Different combinations of straight lines and curves come together and give each individual moulded canvas its own object character." Aha, excuse me? I understand what you're saying, but not what you mean. The artist only: "In the exhibition, the relationships between the individual moulded canvases, the object and the exhibition space are illuminated and activated." It's probably the diploma.

Drawings - works from the shelters of a foolish reality. An inventory of the stores of meaning.

The exhibition is part of a series that promotes exchange and collaboration between two artists. Launched in 2011 as a project by the Young Friends of Art and travelling through various spaces in the city in recent years, the artist tandem has found a new home at Galerie Hinten. Individual positions as well as joint works will be shown, which have been created in the joint discourse of Lydia Thomas and Johannes Müller in recent months.

At the end of the year, the artists from Augustusburger Str. 102 will be exhibiting their works.

Kathrin Tschirner lives and works as a photographer in Berlin. As an artist in residence, she has spent several periods in Chemnitz photographically exploring the conditions surrounding residential sex work on the Sonnenberg. In her photographic works "Kurfürstenstraße" and "Landbordelle", she drew a portrait of various facets of sex work.

In a vacant old building on the Sonnenberg, Leipzig-based artist Sebastian Jung will explore promises of happiness in his intervention and thematise the break-up of animal instincts at a time when social decline seems to be a constant threat.

The "Chemnitz-Manchester-Connection" project aims to establish an exchange programme for artists from Chemnitz and Manchester. The project is based on the idea of combining a residency programme with cooperative aspects. For the first implementation of the project, Sarah Boulter(https://www.sarahboulter.co.uk/) will be visiting our city from 15 October to 28 October.
Her tandem partner is the Chemnitz artist Lysann Németh(http://www.lysann-nemeth.de/). During the project period, the two artists will be exploring various themes together. The language of art is the fundamental link between the two protagonists. The results will be presented on Sunday 27 October at 4pm in the Hinten Gallery. The artists will be present.

The project is funded by i-Portunus as part of the Creative Europe programme of the European Union and the City of Chemnitz in the context of the European Capital of Culture 2025 bid.

Salt, a precious commodity, has always been associated with human culture. As a cornerstone in nutrition, but also important beyond that, the mineral is said to have positive effects, even bringing happiness and promoting success.

"Without salt, the soup tastes bland." And just like salt, people also need art! You will look in vain for a bowl of salt in the exhibition, but you will find art as the spice of life. For the artist themselves, art or their own creative expression is the salt of the world/the spice of life that they need to live. Accordingly, at least a pinch of it is needed to live. Visitors to the exhibition are invited to gain an impression of the artist's visual world and discover the artwork as a pinch of salt that everyone can use to flavour their own lives.

Galerie HINTEN is moving forwards and showing works by Chemnitz-born artist Carolin Israel. A combination of paintings and installations can be seen in the windows of the Lokomov. She explores the imaginary in two- and three-dimensional space. The flat layers of the painting split up and deepen into a multi-view image. The picture can be experienced in three dimensions. The associative play of forms invites the strolling public to discover and linger.

While the first edition of #Fensterkunst was primarily aimed at supporting artists from the circle of Klub Solitaer e.V., working in the two project houses at Augustusburger Straße 102 and Jakobstraße 42, the design of Fensterkunst 2 was open to artists from across the region.

The Euro pallet, a standardised European size, becomes the carrier of the unconventional: contemporary art from opposite regions of Europe. We send two Euro boxes to curators and OFF spaces in Eastern and Western Europe, where they are loaded with artistic positions. In our exhibition spaces, we curate the works received in a joint exhibition.

the theme of this artistic exchange is the gallery backroom. We would like to open a space for backroom discussions between European curators in order to find out what perspectives and experiences reach us on this topic and what associations are awakened by the exhibition in our spaces.

The partners: For our first exhibition, we were able to win the collective IP Group and the curator Marie Claire Krell as partners.

IP Group operates in an interdisciplinary context between art and theory, performing arts and multimedia works, creative processes and research-based approaches.

MC Krell works as a curator and project initiator in the field of contemporary art. For example, she was active in the tri-national network very contemporary and various initiatives, works artistically herself and realises mediation formats.

In the exhibition "From the Workshop", we present works by the Slovenian photographer DK and the Viennese moving image artist Magdalena Salner, which were created during a three-week workshop residency in Chemnitz.

With his ongoing series "Remnants ", DK explores the concept of error and the way in which viewers deal with visual imagery.

What constitutes an image and can one discover a meaningful image and perhaps even beauty in the remains of an image carrier? The photographer DK investigates whether it is possible to find meaning and perhaps even the beauty of life in a now. A now that is characterised by the disintegration of values, the collapse of (sub)systems, in short: the carriers of what we used to call humanity, human society.

Magdalena Salner 's artistic focus is the moving image in a wide variety of formats. Her works range from experimental short films, room-filling video installations and 360° videos to experimental 3D films and music videos.

The 360° video work "Breath" deals with the relationship between the viewer's body, the virtual space and its effect on them. The virtual world slowly begins to move to a rhythm that corresponds to the human breathing rate. The breath is synchronised with the surrounding scenery.

Programmable puddles for urban squares, mouldable roofs for bad weather, bulletproof vests padded with starch - these and many other designs and prototypes were created in the "IF/THEN Artificial Natures" workshop. Under the guidance of Prof. Dr Johanna Schmeer and in cooperation with the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Programmable Materials, students and post-graduates from art and design degree programmes spent six months researching these new materials using various methods of discursive design. The results are now being presented in the HINTEN gallery.

On forays through archives, to Adorf, via the weekly market or on eBay, Lysann Németh finds remnants and traces of an umbrella factory in Chemnitz that no longer exists. In the exhibition, she shows a selection of drawings and an installation with umbrella triangles.

Polina Polikarpova's stay in Chemnitz is not a regular artist residency. The war in Ukraine forced her to leave her homeland together with her mother. The pictures in the exhibition are her attempt to show the suffocating anaesthesia of a quiet provincial life in a city almost completely unknown to her. Boredom and oppression, integration and the search for a new identity, longing for a past life and tedious bureaucracy mingle with existence in a new and foreign comfort zone.

Anna Vovan is a guest at the photo lab of Klub Solitaer. The residency will be introduced by the exhibition Letters (slid under a door). In it, the Leipzig-based artist examines the role of language as a mediator between inner and outer reality. She is interested in the moment when interpersonal communication fails and a gap opens up between speaking and understanding, thinking and saying. Her works are located in this intermediate space. She uses experimental photographic techniques such as photograms or lumen prints to capture the pre-linguistic and unspeakable in images.

The eponymous work Letters (slid under a door) consists of analogue photographic paper that has been pushed halfway through the gap under a door like letters and exposed to the available light. In these photograms, which have become letters, language and text dissolve into light and atmosphere.

Anna Vovan (*1980 in Ettenheim) lives and works in Leipzig. She studied photography at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She has been a member of the producer gallery Galerie b2_in Leipzig since 2012. Her work has been exhibited at Spriten Kunsthall Skien (NOR), Gfzk Leipzig, Kunsthaus Potsdam and Kunsthaus Baselland, among others. in 2023 she will receive the NEUSTARTplus Arbeistsstipendium from the Stiftung Kunstfonds.

The residency and exhibition are supported by the Kulturbetrieb der Stadt Chemnitz.

Su-Ran Sichling's exhibition is dedicated to borders. According to Christoph Kleinschmidt, a border is both a material-visible formation and a mental attitude and exhibits a variable consistency, as it always depends on the historical and social discourses, practices or institutions in which it appears. A border is subject to cultural settings or conventional patterns of perception. This becomes particularly clear in the case of national borders or cultural discourses of sovereignty, in which different actors decide on inclusion and exclusion in the sense of an apparatus of power. However, it also means that it can be changed.

This measure is co-financed by tax funds on the basis of the budget adopted by the Saxon state parliament and supported by the foundation of the NEUSTARTplus special funding programme for platforms in the visual arts.

Ultra-pure silicon wafers form the basis of almost all semiconductor components and are therefore essential building blocks of the global electronics industry.

Lea Draeger's system of popes is a laboratory. It playfully examines patriarchal power relations and structures. The system is constantly evolving and breaking through its own habits. Initially conceived as a series of "1000 economic popes", over 7,000 postage stamp-sized portraits of popes whose identities are fluid have now been created. As an almost uncountable legion, the figures play with categories and identities, defying binary categorisations and ultimately undermining them.

The cyber abolition event

Cyber Dorfgewäsch is the perfect paranoid whingeing place for all local regulars' table fence-sitters, antagonists in confusing power networks, who fight over the peppiest pre-packed discounter salami sausage. It is a great invitation to rethink. The exhibition is a collaboration between Jens Ausderwasche's cyberuniverse listening techniques and Laurin Erdmann's authoritative churlish graphics with an apologetic character and much more!

Using analogue photography, Natalie Bleyl presents street and landscape scenes from Romania, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Poland. The collection emphasises the photographer's keen eye for patterns, details and the extraordinary in the ordinary. The photographs on display take the viewer along fully wired pavements, into narrow cobbled alleyways and to fleeting encounters with locals. Each photo tells a story and captures the spirit of the people, the vibrant colours and the cultural nuances that make the regions so exciting. "Ortsfremd" invites you to reflect on cultural identities while celebrating diversity.

Shifting Pleasures shows artistic works that visualise spatial and emotional voids and ruptures. It asks what opportunities for pleasure, lust and ambivalence they promise.

The exhibition now opens with the first of three chapters: Love&Autonomy. Here, artists combine speculative, documentary and performative approaches; they explore love and autonomy as organising forces of the social.

Shifting Pleasures is a project by Clarissa Aidar, Luise Arndt, Miriam Trostorf and Nela Kuhnová, curators from Germany, Brazil and the Czech Republic. At the invitation of Klub Solitaer e.V., they have embarked on a curatorial journey to Chemnitz.

Ironing describes a historical method of smoothing fabric, removing wrinkles and reprocessing it. In the present, we find places of scarcity - the wounds in the landscapes of lignite mining, the working conditions of nursing care in the healthcare system or the climate crisis. Experiences of scarcity, whether of consumer goods, resources or political co-determination, are attributed to the majority of East German biographies. But is scarcity even a suitable category for their experiences? Since the 1990s, a drastic change in labour realities has been taking place in East Germany. What does it take to say goodbye to coal? How to mediate, how to dry tears, among the generations of East Germany? Using sound collages, textiles and photography, the artists explore the vagueness of the concept of scarcity.

(DE) Wir starten einen neuen Versuch für einen Fotografie-Workshop mit Dieter Wuschanski in Zusammenarbeit mit der Volkshochschule Chemnitz. Der mehrteilige Kurs bietet einen besonderen Einstieg in die analoge Portraitfotografie mit dem Chemnitzer Meister der Theater- und Konzertfotografie Dieter Wuschanski, dessen Bandbreite an Ausstellungsbeteiligungen und Veröffentlichungen von Metal Hammer über Opernwelt und Theater heute bis hin zu den Kunstsammlungen Chemnitz reicht. Nach einer theoretischen Einführung findet der Kurs im Fotostudio und in unserem Fotolabor statt.

(DE) Tran Xuan Nam ist Resident bei der Off-Bühne Komplex / Taupunkt. Seine Residenz findet im Rahmen des Programms „TANZPAKT in residence“ statt, initiiert vom Verein Villa Wigman für Tanz und dem TanzNetzDresden.

Während seiner Residenz in der Off-Bühne Komplex erforschte Tran Xuan Nam, wie sich Street- und Club-Tänze, insbesondere Hip Hop, im Tanztheater ästhetisch und in ihrem Ausdruck anders definieren lassen. Dabei nutzte er die Thematik von Mythen und Sagen sowie deren Rolle und Einfluss in unserem heutigen Alltag als zusätzliche Inspiration, um die erforschten Bewegungen in einen Kontext zu bringen.

In seinem Showing präsentiert er die Ergebnisse seiner Residenz.

Tran Xuan Nam ist ein vielseitiger und international aktiver Tänzer aus Chemnitz mit Schwerpunkt auf Hip-Hop-Tanz. Seit 2021 arbeitet er freischaffend in Tanztheaterproduktionen, insbesondere unter der Company Miller de Nobili (Dresden), und hatte zahlreiche Auftritte wie beispielsweise bei der Tanzplattform 2022 in Berlin, im Festspielhaus Hellerau – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste und RIDCC 2023 in Rotterdam. Zusätzlich sammelte er als Tänzer Erfahrungen in Produktionen von Los Informalls, Joy Alpuerto Ritter und Fang Yun Lo, die seine noch junge künstlerische Praxis beeinflussten.

In the five-part exhibition series “Earthworks” (as part of the the framework of New Ecologies, Gegenwarten II) we look through the thicket of civilization problems of the Sonnenberg - like current construction sites - on ecology and earth systems.

In his artistic-research practice, Daniel Wolter uncovers the geological dimensions of the landscape and investigates the extent to which new landscapes and entire ecosystems are created through the use of sensors. His Geophonic Listening Approach is a listening-as-Earth, an acoustic scaling in geological, biological, and social dimensions.

Klara Meinhardt explores humanity and its identity-shaping spaces. In her sculptural works, she investigates urban spaces as tactile landscapes. In her graphic and textile works, she weaves together references from cultural history, architecture, flora, and fauna into complex motifs.

(DE) Klara Meinhardt lädt im Rahmen ihrer Performanceserie "The Dinner Series" zu einer einmaligen Veranstaltung im Lokomov ein. Die Performance ermöglicht es dem Publikum, aktiv an der Entstehung einer Cyanotypie mitzuwirken, einer künstlerisch fotografischen Technik, die durch ihren markanten Blauton bekannt ist. 

Im Zentrum der Veranstaltung steht ein gemeinschaftliches Mahl, das von poetischen Texten zur Farbe Berliner Blau begleitet wird. Diese literarischen Beiträge beleuchten die wilde Entstehungsgeschichte und die vielfältigen Facetten dieser historischen Farbe und schaffen eine stimmungsvolle Atmosphäre, die das künstlerische Erlebnis vertieft.

(DE) Improvisationtheater Workshop mit Susanne Bolf und Richard Schut – ab 12 Jahren

Im Workshop lernst du einige Techniken aus dem Improtheater und dem Playback- Theater, verbunden mit "empathischem Zuhören" und rudimentären Elementen aus der Gewaltfreien Kommunikation.

Die Teilnehmenden teilen eine Geschichte, die sie persönlich erlebt haben, wie zB eine Begegnung, einen Konflikt, eine Vision, einen Neujahrswunsch, die Geschichte eines Geburtstagsgeschenkes oder oder... Gemeinsam erforschen wir anhand von Grundtechniken aus dem Improvisationstheater sowie mittels Formaten aus dem "Playbacktheater", wie sich das gehörte spontan in Theater umsetzen lässt. Das empathische Zuhören spielt dabei eine Rolle, also: "Was habe ich gehört? Welche Gefühle und Bedürfnisse nehmen ich wahr? Was könnte es sein, was die erzählende Person sich erträumt oder befürchtet?"

Aus der gewaltfreien Kommunikation nach Marshall B. Rosenberg stammt das Konzeptder "Wölfe und Giraffen", also der urteilenden und mitfühlenden inneren Stimmen, die beim zuhören aktiv werden. Auch diese können in eine improvisierte Szene eingebaut werden.

"Sofa-Theater" wirkt sehr verbindend. Durch das Wiederspiegeln des Gehörten entstehen Mitgefühl und der Eindruck geteilten Leid und geteilter Freude.

Im Anschluss an den Workshop findet nach einer Pause eine etwa einstündige "Sofa- Theater" Präsentation der Teilnehmenden, gemeinsam mit den beiden Workshop- LeiterInnen, statt.

Richard ist Trainer für Gewaltfreie Kommunikation und Virtual Reality Künstler. Susanne ist gelernte Schauspielerin und seit über 20 Jahren dem Improtheater verfallen. Gemeinsam spielen die beiden regelmäßig in Leipzig "Sofa-Theater" und sind bundesweit als Walk Act und Workshopgeber vertreten.

Es war einmal ... eine kleine kecke Däumeline. Diese wird von einer kupplerischen Froschmama entführt und nur mit Hilfe eines zauberhaften Regenbogenfisch kann sie der Froschhochzeit entrinnen. Kaum entkommen lernt sie den musikfreudigen Maikäfer kennen. Doch ihre gemeinsame Leidenschaft durchweht ein rauer Herbstwind. Dann verläßt auch noch Däumelines treue Wegbegleiterin - die Schwalbe Hirundina - sie und macht sich auf in den warmen Süden. Das taffe, halb erfrorene Mädchen wird in letzter Sekunde von einer Maus gerettet und findet Unterschlupf bei einem reichen Maulwurf. Doch schon wendet sich das Blatt erneut ...

Von der Kraft der Phantasie, von Freundschaft und Abenteuerfreude erzählt diese liebevoll ausgestattete Inszenierung für Kinder ab 4 Jahren frei nach dem Märchen von Hans Christian Andersen.

(DE) Wie klingt das Leben im Boden? Welche Geräusche macht ein Baum? Im Workshop werden wir kleine urbane Biotope in der Umgebung des Lokomov in Chemnitz aufsuchen und dem vielfältigen Treiben ihrer zahlreichen nicht-menschlichen Bewohner*innen mit speziellen Mikrofonen lauschen. Aus den Aufnahmen erstellen wir anschließend digitale Klangstücke, bei denen wir den Abend im Lokomov ausklingen lassen. Technische Vorkenntnisse sind nicht erforderlich. Tontechnik wird vorhanden sein – wenn möglich bitte ein Smartphone mit Kopfhörern mitbringen.

Priska Engelhardt is a sculptor and intermedia artist whose artistic focus lies on the relationships between animals and humans. This central theme unites her diverse approaches, in which she uses malleable materials such as clay, porcelain, and textiles.

In joyful performances and video works, Christoph Blankenburg explores a wide variety of landscape formations - from volcanic origins to dumps from the recent industrial past. He explores the landscape sensually and intuitively with abstract movements.

(DE) Wenn bei den Begehungen die Schulklingel bimmelt, bieten wir noch angenehmes Nachsitzen -  bei Karaoke, wo Schreihälse und Klassenclowns auf gewissenhafte Gesangstalente treffen. Bühne frei!

(DE) Die Liebesgeschichte zweier Teenager, die mehr äußere und innere Hindernisse überwinden müssen als die meisten. Und die Geschichte zweier Mütter, denen es schwerer fällt als anderen, ihren Kindern den Raum für diese Liebe zu geben. Der Film dieses Abends erzählt unerschrocken und mit Humor von der Liebe und von sichtbaren und unsichtbaren Versehrungen.

(DE) Das Festival TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ wird wieder zur Bühne für junge choreografische Handschriften – und vereint an diesem Abend ganz unterschiedliche Arbeiten von Absolventen des MA-Studiengangs Choreografie der Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden.

Da ist zum einen der aus Australien stammende Jack Bannermann. Der freischaffende Choreograph und bildende Künstler präsentierte seine Arbeiten bislang für die Tanzplattform Rhein-Main, das Florence Dance Festival, die Tanzzentrale Nürnberg und das Tanznetz Dresden. In Chemnitz zeigt er „Fühlen Sie sich zu Hause?“, ein Duo mit Gavin Law. Dabei hinterfragt er das Gefühl der Zugehörigkeit mit den Mitteln des Tanzes und der Sprache. Wie also lässt sich Vertrautheit fi nden, auch wenn das „Zuhause“ geografisch weit entfernt liegt?

Um Objektivierung und Entmenschlichung im Kontext gesellschaftlicher Normen geht es dagegen im Duett „norm Practice“ den Choreografinnen Yuexuan Gui und Shiyu Liu, welches sie auch selbst tanzen.. Indem das Stück konventionelle Wahrnehmungen in Frage stellt und die Komplexität von Normalität und Abnormität entschlüsselt, soll es zu Selbstreflexion und Dialog anregen. Die gebürtige Chinesin Yuexuan Gui erhielt ihre Tanzausbildung an der Beijing Dance Academy zeigte ihre Arbeiten als Choreografin bislang unter anderem am Theater Pforzheim, dem Beijing Dance Festival oder der Venice Biennale di Danza. ShiYu Liu studierte Tanz an der Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapur und begann ihre Karriere bei der LDTX Dance Company in Peking. Als Choreografi n nahm sie unter anderem an der International Choreography Residency beim American Dance Festival teil, arbeitete aber auch schon für Film- und Museumsprojekte.

Einen weiteren Part übernimmt Charles A. Washington. Der Choreograf, Performer und Musiker ist künstlerischer Leiter der Tanzkompanie Pinkmetalpetal Productions und seit 2024 Mitglied im Vorstand des TanzNetzDresden. Von ihm wird „The Final Chapter“ zu sehen sein, wofür er auch Kostüme, Lichtdesign und Musik selbst schuf. Zur Komposition „Acid“ zeigt er die Entwicklung der Bewegung zu Gesten auf, die in erzählerischen Situationen wie Wellen des Verstehens fließen. Dieses choreografi sche Spiel regt die Vorstellungskraft des Publikums geschickt an und schafft eine offene Arena für die Erforschung persönlicher Geschichten.

Last but not least kommt Odbayar Batsuuri mit zwei Arbeiten zum Festival: zum einen mit seinem selbst getanzten Solo „In the Inside“, zum anderen mit dem Duett „Zukunfts-Rennen“. Während sich das Solo dem komplizierten Wechselspiel zwischen heiteren und unangenehmen Momenten widmet und die innere Welt als Schlachtfeld zeigt, auf dem Emotionen und Intellekt einen delikaten Tanz aufführen, gerät das Duett mit Seraphine Detscher zur Metapher für die Eltern-Kind-Beziehung. Die gemeinsame Arbeit mit der in Dresden lebenden Tänzerin und Choreografin erzählt, wie Erwachsene den Nachwuchs auf die leistungsorientierte Gesellschaft vorbereiten, ähnlich wie Trainer ihre Athleten. Der gebürtige Mongole Odbayar Batsuuri absolvierte seine Tanzausbildung am mongolischen Staatskonservatorium und kam nach einer 14-jährigen Tanzkarriere nach Deutschland, um Choreografie zu studieren. Mit „In The Inside“ wurde er zum Gdansk Dance Festival und Solocoreografico – Solo Dance Festival 2023 eingeladen.Seraphine Detscher ist mit der 4roomsCompany in der Tanzszene Dresdens sowohl als Tänzerin wie auch als Choreografin tätig.

(DE) Was macht der Abgesandte von den Sternen im Thüringer Wald? - wachgerüttelt vom Bau neuer Straßen, Schneisen schlagend zwischen Betongeburten oder kalibrierend. Der Film zeigt eine Annäherung an die Bedingungen der Erdoberfläche. Wir werden mitgenommen auf eine kurze Reise entlang des Rennsteigs.

Der Künstler Christoph Blankenburg wird in einer performativen Lecture, einer Mischung  aus Filmvorführung und Künstlergespräch, Ausschnitte aus dem preisgekrönten Rennsteig Flimmern 2 und dem noch unveröffentlichten Rennsteig Flimmern 3 zeigen und in den Austausch mit dem Publikum treten. Im Anschluss wird der Soundkünstler René Schwolow in der Galerie HINTEN zu Klangwelten einladen, die von den Filmen des Künstlers Christoph Blankenburg inspiriert sind.

(DE) Wilder Ton ist die Bezeichnung für regionalen Ton, der direkt aus dem Erdreich entnommen wird. Er wird nicht maschinell gesäubert und homogenisiert, sondern bleibt wie er ist – manchmal etwas unberechenbar, wild eben. Wir fangen wilden Ton direkt vor der Galerie ein und bändigen ihn gemeinsam im Rahmen der Ausstellung ERDARBEITEN III. 

Wir treffen uns am 07.09.24, 12 -17 Uhr in der Galerie Glaskasten des Klub Solitaers und töpfern mit der Erde, die durch die Bauarbeiten in der Jakobstraße zugänglich gemacht wurde. Fokus liegt dabei auf dem spielerischen Kennenlernen des Materials.

For the earthworks, Reinhard Krehl explores the migration history of various plants discovered on the Sonnenberg and their social attributions. Krehl's works combine nature and culture and question traditional botanical classifications.

Patrick Will takes an in-depth look at the stinging nettle. He confronts the stigma of the weed with seriousness and botanical care, creating credible and multi-perspective references to the plant in industry, the culinary arts, medicine, music and art history. Using artistic means, he succeeds in creating a seriousness and attention for the apparent weed without artificially exaggerating it.
In walks, workshops and lectures, he presents the manifold connections between humans and nettles. Most recently, he focussed on nettles in the Chemnitz region.

For the earthworks, the Weed Information Centre, which he initiated and runs, conducts investigative research to uncover the means used by federal states and local authorities to implement a horticultural image that stands against botanical diversity and for the exclusion of some plant species.

Was machst du, wenn du auf deinen Anschluss warten musst? Versuchst du, dein zappeliges Gepäck zu bändigen? Hast du das Bedürfnis, mit anderen Reisenden in Kontakt zu treten? Lass‘ uns mit der Situation des Wartens auf das Umsteigen experimentieren.

Der Workshop lädt die Teilnehmenden ein, ihre Bewegungsmöglichkeiten und Beziehungen sowohl zum öffentlichen Raum als auch zu ihrem persönlichen Raum zu erkunden. Was können wir tun, wenn wir warten? Wir können springen, wir können herumtreten. Wir können mit unserem Gepäck und gemeinsam tanzen. Welche neuen Möglichkeiten können wir entdecken?

Der Bewegungsworkshop arbeitet mit Situationen und Prinzipien aus dem Suitcaseboarding-Projekt von tYhle und hat einen öffentlichen Output in Form von Präsentationen im öffentlichen Raum.

tYhle / physical theatre

tYhle ist ein Kollektiv tschechischer und französischer Künstler:innen mit Sitz in der Tschechischen Republik. Es ist eine Plattform für Performance, Tanz, physisches Theater und bildende Kunst, die von vier jungen Künstler:innen ins Leben gerufen wurde, die die gleiche Vision der zeitgenössischen Szene teilen: ihre Pflicht zu experimentieren und Barrieren zu beseitigen.

Das Kollektiv wurde 2015 in Brünn gegründet, nachdem die Performer Lukáš Karásek und Florent Golfier bereits drei Jahre zusammengearbeitet hatten. Später kamen die Lichtdesignerin Zuzana Režná und die Szenografin/Choreografin Marie Gourdain hinzu.

Der Name von tYhle ist von der Generation Y inspiriert. Der Buchstabe Y kann auch grafisch als Treffpunkt verschiedener Linien, Richtungen, Inspirationen und Hintergründe gelesen werden.

Eines der Ziele von tYhle ist es, Brücken zwischen seinen beiden Kulturen zu bauen.

What do you do when you have to wait for your connection? Are you trying to tame your fidgety luggage? Do you feel the need to connect with other travellers? Let’s experiment with the situation of waiting for moving.

The workshop with creators invites participants to explore their movement possibilities and relations both to the public space and to their personal space. What can we do when we wait? We can jump, we can step around. We can dance with our luggage and together. What new possibilities can we discover?

The movement workshop works with situations and principles from Suitcaseboarding project, and it has a public output to the public space.

tYhle / physical theatre

tYhle is a collective of Czech and French artists based in Czech Republic. It is a platform for performance, dance, physical theatre and the visual arts, created by four young artists who share the same vision of the contemporary scene: its duty to experiment and eliminate barriers.

The collective was founded in Brno in 2015 after already three years of collaboration of the performers Lukáš Karásek and Florent Golfier. They were later joined by the lighting designer Zuzana Režná and the scenographer/choreographer Marie Gourdain.

tYhle’s name is inspired by the Y generation. The letter Y can also be read graphically as the meeting point of different lines, directions, inspirations and backgrounds.

One of tYhle’s aims is to build bridges between its two cultures.

„Suitcaseboarding“ sind Bilder von Reisen. Situationen, die wir alle auf unterschiedliche Weise auf unseren Reisen erleben, jeder ein wenig anders. Die Umgebung und die Menschen um uns herum ändern sich, aber wir haben etwas gemeinsam, wir haben normalerweise das gleiche Ziel, wenn wir reisen - wir wollen irgendwo ankommen. Für uns geht es bei einer Reise nicht nur darum, von einem Ort zum anderen zu gelangen, sondern vor allem darum, was währenddessen passiert. Kennst du den klischeehaften Satz „Auch der Weg kann das Ziel sein“? Es gibt viele Haltestellen auf dem Weg, die wir passieren müssen und an denen wir normalerweise warten müssen, bevor wir weitergehen können. Wir müssen warten, an einem fremden Ort, mit Fremden, nur mit unserem Gepäck, bis die Umstände uns weiterziehen lassen. Und wenn das passiert, eilen wir zum nächsten Punkt. Dort halten wir an und warten wieder gehorsam, bevor wir weitergehen können. Wir eilen, damit wir warten können. Wir warten, damit wir uns beeilen können.

Was geschieht, während du wartest? Was tust du? Hörst du Musik? Tanzt du? Schaust du dich um? Hast du das Bedürfnis, mit anderen Passagieren Kontakt aufzunehmen? Oder versuchst du dich zu verstecken und wartest ungeduldig auf den Anschlussflug? Stützt du dich auf deinen Koffer? Fährst du damit an einer Haltestelle, einer Bank, einer Abfahrtstafel oder anderen Fahrgästen vorbei? Oder versuchst du einfach nur, mit einem Übermaß an unhandlichem Gepäck fertig zu werden?

Der Wunsch, diese Momente zu teilen, vereint die Mitglieder unserer „Koffer-Truppe“, die nun auf dem Weg zu Ihnen sind.

„Suitcaseboarding“ are pictures from travels. Situations that we all experience in different ways on our travels, each one a little differently. The environment and people around us change, but we have something in common, we usually share the same goal when traveling – we want to get somewhere. For us, the journey is not just about moving from one place to another, it is mainly about what happens during it. You know the cliched phrase “even the journey can be the destination”? There are many stops on the way that we must go through and at which we must usually wait before we can go further. We must wait, in a strange place, with strangers, with only our baggage, until circumstances let us go on. And when that happens, we rush to the next point. We stop at it and wait obediently again before we can continue further. We hurry so we can wait. We wait so we can hurry.

What happens while you wait? What do you do? Do you listen to music? Do you dance? Do you look around? Do you feel the need to make contact with other passengers? Or are you trying to hide and impatiently waiting for the connection? Are you leaning on your suitcase? Will you ride it past a stop, a bench, a departure board or other passengers? Or are you just trying to deal with an excess amount of unwieldy luggage?

The desire to share these moments unites the members of our “suitcase troupe” who are now on their way to you.

tYhle / physical theatre

tYhle is a collective of Czech and French artists based in Czech Republic. It is a platform for performance, dance, physical theatre and the visual arts, created by four young artists who share the same vision of the contemporary scene: its duty to experiment and eliminate barriers.

The collective was founded in Brno in 2015 after already three years of collaboration of the performers Lukáš Karásek and Florent Golfier. They were later joined by the lighting designer Zuzana Režná and the scenographer/choreographer Marie Gourdain.

tYhle’s name is inspired by the Y generation. The letter Y can also be read graphically as the meeting point of different lines, directions, inspirations and backgrounds.

One of tYhle's aims is to build bridges between its two cultures.

Die Schauspielerin, Sängerin, Autorin und Cafébetreiberin Nirit Sommerfeld ist im Frühjahr 2024 nach Chemnitz gezogen. Hier lebte am zentral gelegenen Antonplatz die Familie ihres Vaters, bis sie von Nazis entrechtet, vertrieben und ermordet wurde. Im Zuge der Kulturhauptstadt will Nirit die Geschichte ihrer Familie wieder an ihre Ursprünge zurückbringen, aber auch anderen Geschichten von Unrecht und Ausgrenzung Raum geben. Am ehemaligen Antonplatz – heute ein vergessener Ort im öffentlichen Raum – finden seit Mai 2024 künstlerische Interventionen und Begegnungen statt.

Am 13. Oktober wird Nirit Sommerfeld mit Gästen vom Chemnitzer Hauptbahnhof aus einen Stadtspaziergang zum Theaterplatz, dem ehemaligen Antonplatz, zum Stadtzentrum und schließlich zum ehemaligen Kaufhaus Schocken, dem jetzigen Archäologiemuseum smac unternehmen und dabei Geschichten und Anekdoten von der Familie Sommerfeld und der befreundeten Familie Litten erzählen. In ihrem soeben eröffneten Museumscafé JULIUS IM SCHOCKEN wird der Spaziergang mit Kaffee und Kuchen und ein wenig Musik mit ihrem Kollegen Christian Schantz abgerundet.

Reinhard Krehl invites you to a vegetarian 4-course menu dedicated to the theme of ash. The meal combines the visual arts, the location and the vegetation in a special way. Pineapple chamomile, French cabbage, charred leek and goat's cheese in hay ash are (among other things) the protagonists of this artistic menu. Reinhard Krehl will report on the different parts of the menu and turn the whole thing into a lecture performance.

Gordan spiegeln die Mystik der Legenden und Geschichten aus der Balkanregion wider und schaffen eine Musik, die sich zwischen Expressivität und Abstraktion, Tradition und Avantgarde bewegt. Der eindringliche Gesang von Svetlana Spajic ( die schon mit Marina Abramovic, Robert Wilson, Antony and the Johnsons zusammenarbeitete) ist sowohl tief verwurzelt als auch tief beeindruckend. Der Schlagzeuger Andi Stecher (STECHER, Billy Bultheel, Orchestre Les Mangelepa) und Guido Möbius am Bass und an der Elektronik setzen wiederum klangliche Strategien ein, die die Songs in originelle und unvorhersehbare Richtungen lenken.

Ihre Stücke sind nicht durch starre formale Strukturen begrenzt. Vielmehr handelt es sich um offene Prozesse, die einen Verlust des Zeitgefühls bewirken. Reduzierte Arrangements und ausdrucksstarker Gesang verbinden sich zu einem kraftvollen musikalischen Ganzen. Diese Band schafft etwas Neues aus Minimalismus, Intensität und der reichen Gesangstradition des Balkans.

Die Stadt Zlin ist eng mit dem Schuhfabrikanten Tomáš Bata verbunden, dessen Vision für die Stadt eine funktionale Architektur betonte, die für die Bedürfnisse der Industrie und der Arbeiter optimiert war. Der Einfluss von Bata führte zu einer modernen Stadtentwicklung, die auf Effizienz und pragmatische Lösungen abzielte und internationale Beachtung fand. Die funktionale Architektur in Zlin symbolisierte den Fortschritt und die Modernität der tschechischen Industrie im frühen 20. Jahrhundert.
Zlín weist einige Gemeinsamkeiten mit Chemnitz auf. Beide Städte haben eine indus- trielle Vergangenheit und waren Zentren ihrer jeweiligen Branchen. Zudem reflek- tieren beide Städte den sozialen und kulturellen Wandel des 20. Jahrhunderts, was sich in ihrer Architektur und urbanen Entwicklung zeigt.
Gezeigt wird eine Puppeninszenierung über das Leben in der Stadt Zlín in der Bata-Zeit. Eine Produktion über den Alltag, die funktional, modern, universell, modellhaft, routiniert und effektiv ist. Jeden Tag, immer und immer wieder, bis ein Fehler passiert.

Diese Veranstaltung ist Teil des 18. KAMMERMACHEN – Neues von Musik, Theater, Tanz und Klangkunst.

Cristiana Casadio ist Tänzerin, Choreografin und Lehrerin und lebt in Berlin.Sie wurde als Trainee für die Aterballetto Company unter der Leitung von Mauro Bigonzetti ausgewählt und erhielt mehrere Stipendien (z. B. im Merce Cunninghum Studio und im Peridance Center in New York). Sie war Mitglied der Botega Dance Company von Enzo Celli (IT), des J.K.Tyl Theaters Pilsen (CZ) und von 2001 bis 2009 als Solistin beim Balletto dell’Esperia (Turin, IT) unter der Leitung von Paolo Mohovich.

Das neu gegründete interkulturelle Kabarett KarmaStadt aus Chemnitz feiert die Premiere seines Debütprogramms "Lachkräftemangel".

Ist Integration in Deutschland möglich? Und falls ja, ist sie sinnlos? Wann wird die Disziplin der vorschnellen Verurteilung eigentlich olympisch? Und waren Sie schon mal in KarmaStadt?

Eins ist jedenfalls klar, KarmaStadt ist überall. Sie kann Gutes aber auch Beängstigendes hervorbringen. In Chemnitz hat sie Veronika Ahnert und Ahmed Béjaoui, beides Bioweltbürger, zusammengeführt, um für eine interkulturelle Begegnung der satirischen Art zu sorgen und sich mit den Waffen des Humors an das Knacken von Vorurteilen zu machen, nicht ohne dabei das Thema Integration zu integrieren. Mit mutigem Blick in die paradoxen Abgründe des bürokratischen Zuwanderer- aber auch Eingeborenenalltags schippern sie um menschliche wie institutionelle Hürden direkt durch den Kakao.

Ob das gut oder beängstigend ist, voreilig oder nachhaltig, lustig oder zum Heulen, liegt ganz an Ihrem Urteilsvermögen. Egal wo und warum Sie hergekommen sind und ob Sie behördlich oder familiär noch geduldet werden, solange Sie noch Lachkraft haben, sind Sie in KarmaStadt herzlich willkommen!

We would like to produce linocuts and prints together with you. Whether you have previous experience or not, you can learn the basics, work on your own printing plates or bring your own cuts and print them on site at the open lino printing workshops. Come along and be inspired!

Failand Error (Deep House) is living proof of the complex relationship between man and machine. In parallel to his hard-hitting techno live act - for which we simply don't have the authorisation from the network operator this evening - he remains true to the record. He has rummaged through his treasure chest especially for you to show how much humanity is still left in him.
Local Hero Tyke Myson inspires with pulsating house beats and captivating melodies. As a representative of the Reset collective, he encourages sharing and brings a breath of fresh air to the scene.

"Kafka has left the building" - er ist weg und sein Prag gibt es auch nicht mehr.

Im Labyrinth aller Jubiläumsfeiern und Klischees stellen wir uns die Frage, was heute noch von ihm übrig ist. Wir untersuchen Überschneidungen von Leben und Werk, dessen Kommerzialisierung und der geheimnisvollen Welt Kafkas.

Das Thema führt das Publikum so zur Reflektion seines eigenen “Kafkablicks”. Lasst uns feiern!

Kafka lebte und schrieb in einem zweisprachigen Prag. Deshalb ist dieses Stück durchgehend zweisprachig.

1.Deutsch-tschechisches Kabarett Das Thema - To téma

Das  zweisprachige Projekt Das Thema - To téma wurde 2018 gegründet und entspringt der kulturellen Doppel-Identität der Akteure. Wir bieten dem Publikum neue und spielerische Perspektiven auf deutsch-tschechische Themen, ob es sich dabei um Persönlichkeiten wie Franz Kafka, Erika Mann oder Peter Lotar handelt, oder um Adaptionen unserer eigenen Lebensgeschichten, wie in den Kabaretts Gefühl und Cit und Liedfabrik.

Alle unsere Projekte sind bewusst sowohl zweisprachig als auch interaktiv und überwinden somit konsequent jegliche Sprachbarrieren.

V bludišti klišé a jubilejních oslav si klademe otázku co dnes z Kafky ještě zbylo. Zkoumáme prolnutí mezi spisovatelovým životem, dílem a komercializací obojího. To téma vede diváky k reflektování jejich vlastního pohledu na Kafku. Tak pojďme slavit!

Based on your messages and wishes to and for the city of Chemnitz and the Sonnenberg district, a community collage will be created, which will be visible in the window of the Lokomov until the end of the year.

Fat, bass-heavy, danceable and handmade loop music: drum'n'bass, reggae, dubstep, ska, Balkan and dub. With his loop stations, Konrad Kuechenmeister records his voice and beatbox, various instruments and sometimes even the audience live - just no prefabricated samples, which makes every concert unique! After shows with Dub FX and Manu Chao, among others, as well as performances all over the world, he is now presenting his latest album "Record" on his current tour.
After the show, LeSuriheats up the decks once again and rounds off the evening perfectly.

„Touched!“ ist eine Tanzperformance, die sich mit den Themen Isolation, Beziehung und dem Verlangen nach körperlicher Berührung in einer zunehmend distanzierten Welt auseinandersetzt. Eine vielfältige Gruppe von Tänzer:innen mit unterschiedlichen Fähigkeiten erarbeitet in diesem inklusiven Projekt eine Choreografie, die Emotionen und Ideen vermittelt. Solistische Elemente thematisieren Gefühle von Einsamkeit, während die Kraft der menschlichen Verbindung in der Gruppe erkundet wird. Es werden gesellschaftliche Vorstellungen über körperliche Berührung, Behinderung und soziale Interaktion hinterfragt und aufgebrochen. „Touched!“ ist eine Performance, die Verständnis und Akzeptanz fördert und die Bedeutung menschlicher Verbindung in den Mittelpunkt stellt.

Three imaginative stories from equatorial Kenya. The same images, but each time a different narrative. Through synchronised dynamic images, each sequence offers different stories that reveal elements of cultural hybridity in the sense of the exploitation of the local environment in favour of post-colonial tourism. Through the composite videos, the artist, among other things, comes to terms with his own feelings of undercutting exotic attractions referring to African culture and identity.

Together with the queerfeminist art collective Out of Order, we're bringing new artists and changing techniques to the starting line every month and offering you new opportunities to express yourself creatively. There will be a special drink at the bar every time.

For the opening of the Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025, we are participating with the format "Aus dem Häuschen" and inviting art lovers to discover visual art from Chemnitz in addition to the main programme of the Capital of Culture. To this end, artists from the studio houses and the Klub Solitaer neighbourhood will come together in a group exhibition at Galerie HINTEN and Galerie Glaskasten.

The exhibition is the start of a cooperation with the "Künstlerhaus 188" in Halle. The artists from this studio house will be exhibiting later in the year.

Damit das so bleibt, schwingen sich Johnny Deep, Level C, Trebor, TS und Mr. Lettuce hinter die Decks, um zielgerichtet Trommelfelle und Hosenbeine flattern zu lassen. Mit rollendem Drum&Bass: von liquid, über deep, zu funky und selbstverständlich auch über den Tellerrand hinaus. Und wer weiß, vielleicht kommen ja auch neue Freunde hinzu.

Fremdan writes down his fears and worries so that they no longer take up so much space in his head. Thoughts are translated into rhymes that sometimes more and sometimes less cynically deal with mental health issues, social criticism and the sometimes too escapist weekends in between. Somewhere between conscious rap and sounds that are almost too electronic for hip hop, he creates his own subgenre. The self-produced beats form a finely tuned unit with the message. Live on stage, the distorted bass hits the body and the lyrics hit the mind.

Florian Illing sings and screams in German for the first time. In post-punk and avant-garde garb (actually just a red jumpsuit), all the songs are about unpleasant deep dives into unpleasant topics. (Florian Illing is absent, but Big Buddha fills in!)

Dating coach David Hahn organises a dating competition with his clients. The candidates Bear, Rabbit, Bull, Bat and Butterfly have to win the heart of a woman. On the way to their long-awaited goal, the candidates experience crazy situations and make strange realisations.

From now on, every second Wednesday afternoon we'll be opening our coworking café with free WiFi, delicious coffee or a large selection of teas from our new tea menu. And there's also a microwave to heat up your food so you don't miss anything.

The project "(Ne)boj im Dialog" is a collaboration between the Czech theatre collective tYhle and Taupunkt e.V.

Directly following the performance "(Ne)boj" (engl. (Not) Fighting/(No) Fear) by tYhle, a 90-minute workshop on the topic of "Conflict" will be developed. The performance and workshop will deal with conflicts, the fear of conflicts and the ability to engage in non-aggressive confrontation.

The project picks up on key themes of the Capital of Culture Chemnitz, in which not only a Saxon-Czech partnership (Taunpunkt and tYhle) will be deepened through the conception of a joint event, but also in which a changed understanding of conflicts can lead to a strengthening of civil society. Conflicts can create closeness and build bridges if they are viewed constructively.

Barbora Liška is a dance dramaturge and theorist. She studied theatre studies and German language and literature at Masaryk University and completed study visits at Ruhr University Bochum and Justus Liebig University Giessen. She has long been involved in performance, movement theatre and theatre dance. She is a co-founder of the magazine CEDIT, published by the Centre for Experimental Theatre in Brno, and the performance laboratory CED_OBSERVER.

NaZemi, a non-profit and non-governmental organisation, is dedicated to developing transformative education, promoting responsible production and consumption, advocating decent working conditions and spreading awareness of the degrowth economy.
