Martin Lucas Schulze | The process is the form
Processes of decay are a fundamental constant of nature. They are at the centre of Martin Lucas Schulze's artistic research. "When scientists today assume that everything from the smallest substances to black holes must decay, it seems to be a structure that exists everywhere and of which it is necessary to form a picture. An interesting question I ask myself is whether such a decaying structure would also have to decay itself and then reconfigure itself? That the structure itself is also just a state, so to speak." In the exhibition "The Process is the Form", Martin Lucas Schulze is showing excerpts from his unusual archive, which he is constantly expanding. The extensive collection includes photographs, text fragments, drawings and found objects that document the various manifestations of permanent decay events in our environment and resemble an inventory - for the artist, the starting material for designing thought models or asking himself what a natural philosophical design could look like with regard to their laws, methods, structures and functions.
