Galerie GLASKASTEN

Opened in 2019, Galerie Galerie GLASKASTEN offers another exhibition space for contemporary art, with a large shop window out onto the district. The gallery is located in the studio and project house Jakobstr. 42. Thanks to the proximity to the Werkstudio and many other studios, works created directly in the neighbourhood are exhibited alongside international artistic perspectives.

    Urban reality – Stacking the horizon

    City walk. The neighbourhood spreads out before you like a scenic panorama as you wander through it. How does space present itself in a steady progression? How can you bring movement into a drawing? In the attempt to bring together the views of what I perceived while walking with my inner map in my head, the panorama became nested, the horizon piled up.

    The opening is on the 17th of October 2025 at 18:00 in the Galerie Glaskasten.

    Luzia Rux extends the drawing into the space and creates installative situations in which movement, line and structure can be experienced as space and become visible as thought processes. Her works build bridges between two-dimensionality and sculpture, reflecting body and space in a subtle way.
