Mask-making workshops in Chemnitz for Tricksters of all ages
The Trickster is a figure from ancient folk tales and creation stories from all over the world who uses intelligence and magic to play tricks and subvert expectations. Trickers often shapeshift, taking on the form of animals to make mischief and change the course of history.
As part of the Dialogfelder artist residency, Denise Lee invites you to make your own Trickster’s mask. The workshop is suitable for all ages, with different difficulty levels based on your abilities. The possibilities range from decorating masks with paint, markers and gemstones to sculpting your own shapes with foam clay.
Duration: The workshop will be open for 3 hours each session, but it’s up to you how long your work on your mask. You may leave your mask to dry and pick it up another day, or come back to work on it the next weekend if you wish to continue!
