The Klub Solitaer e. V. was founded in 2010 and has been initiating cultural projects ever since. The association runs all cultural activities in the Galerie HINTEN and the Galerie Glaskasten, as well as the LOKOMOV cultural centre . It also participated in setting up the Komplex off-stage venue for performing arts. The club also launched the Dialogfelder project, which uses artistic interventions to explore public and semi-public spaces in the Sonnenberg district. Art and high technology are brought together by the FUNKEN Academy, which was also initiated and is supported by the association. In addition, the association regularly organises series of events on socio-political topics relevant to the city of Chemnitz.
We want culture to grow and take root in Chemnitz. To this end, we provide space for the production of contemporary art and culture in the southern Sonnenberg district with the A102 and J42 project and studio houses. We also provide workshops for creative projects and artistic experiments and offer space to initiatives and event organisers.
