Artist Talk | From China to Chemnitz: Encounter with guest artist Xiaoyue Pu

The Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony and the Goethe-Institut China are initiating an artistic exchange programme between China and Saxony. The first guest artist in Chemnitz is Xiaoyue Pu. Every year since 2012, artists from Saxony have travelled to China with the support of the Cultural Foundation and spent three months working at the Goethe-Institut China in Beijing. The programme has now been expanded into a bilateral exchange programme for the first time.

In spring, Chinese artists were able to apply to the Goethe-Institut for a three-month residency at Klub Solitaer e.V. in Chemnitz. The artist Xiaoyue Pu from Beijing has now been nominated for the scholarship from almost 30 applications. She will be a guest in Chemnitz from August to October. As part of her artistic work, in which she primarily uses photography and text, she intends to trace the region's industrial textile history.

On the afternoon of 30 August from 3 pm, there will be an opportunity to get to know the participants and exchange ideas in a public discussion at LOKOMOV.
