Wilde Chefs
From 30 July to 2 August, Klub Solitaer e.V. welcomes the Wilde Chefs from Amsterdam to the Sonnenberg in Chemnitz. In a cross-border project, the Wilde Chefs from the socio-cultural organisation The Beach will meet their counterparts from Chemnitz. Both organisations have been involved in cultural and social projects in migrant neighbourhoods for years and promote encounters, participation and creativity.
While the culinary activities of Wilde Chefs in Amsterdam have long been a lively meeting place for the diverse neighbourhood, Chemnitz's Sonnenberg is still in the process of being revitalised and transformed. Cooking together and the intensive exchange of experiences between the participants creates a lively experimental space that brings cultures and generations together.
The Wilde Chefs are a group of women from Amsterdam's Wildeman district who use their love of cooking for the neighbourhood. They cook dishes from their cultural traditions with regional ingredients, organise restaurant evenings, catering and community baking and cooking events. Their work not only promotes cultural exchange, but also self-confidence and entrepreneurial skills.
Here in Chemnitz, the Wilde Chefs will be creating a special menu for you on two evenings. We and our partners from The Beach invite you to take a seat and satisfy your appetite for cultural exchange, encounters and creativity.
